Based on stories written by L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz debuted in 1939 as a motion picture. The story involves a girl named Dorothy and her dog Toto who get wrapped up in a tornado and end up in a place somewhere over the rainbow called Oz. There she meets three friends, a cowardly Lion, heartless Tinman, and brainless Scarecrow. They follow the yellow brick road in attempt to find the wonderful Wizard of Oz who can grant them their wishes and send Dorothy back home.
