In the end of all things…
“How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back? There are some things time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep that have taken hold.”-Frodo Baggins, Return of the King

He who must not be named…
“Only I can live forever…”-Lord Voldemort
Tom Marvolo Riddle was once a gifted student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, until he chose a path of immortality which in return required his soul to be strengthened through the act of murder.
With an obsession for blood purity, Voldemort proves his aim to remove the wizarding world of Muggle (non-magical) heritage and to conquer both societies, Muggle and wizarding, to achieve pure-blood dominance. Through his mother’s family, he is the last descendant of wizard Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
An interesting fact, according to an interview with Rowling, “Voldemort” is pronounced with a silent ‘t’ at the end, as in the French word “mort”, meaning “death”
